Dear Self: Just Us Talking

Whoever is reading this, imagine you’re speaking to yourself—sharing something meaningful you may have never told yourself before. Take a moment to connect inward. Tap your shoulder gently and feel proud of how far you’ve come. You’ve reached a place where you truly deserve to feel proud of yourself.

Dear Self, you’ve come a long way, and there’s still a beautiful journey ahead. When you think about your past, you’ll find moments you’re proud of—and moments you wish had gone differently. That’s okay. Life is full of ups and downs. What truly matters is how you rise from each situation.

If, while reading this, everything in your life feels like it’s going well, that’s wonderful. And if things aren’t so great right now, don’t worry—better days are on their way.

So many things happen in life. People come and go. You give love, but sometimes people don’t value it. You show respect, but it isn’t always returned. You end up feeling tired because you’ve done so much, yet you’re not given the priority you hoped for.

But from another perspective, recognise how courageous and strong you are. You’ve given people the best of what you’re capable of, and not everyone has that kind of heart. If you love someone unconditionally, it shows how deeply loving you are. And if that love isn’t returned, that’s okay too. Let things be as they are. What truly matters is your time and where you invest your energy. You can still care for someone, but make sure your time and energy go where they’re valued.

There are moments when you feel God isn’t being fair to you. But remember, God is always fair to everyone; we may not understand yet. Karma returns—every action has its reaction. Whatever we do eventually finds its way back to us. Maybe it’s not happening right now because we’re being tested to see how we handle difficult situations and whether we can stay calm through them.

But instead of focusing on what we’ll get from God or from others, the most important thing is to remain good within ourselves. If we let disappointment caused by others control our emotions, then our life is no longer in our hands—it’s in theirs. The real strength is choosing to stay true to ourselves, no matter what others do.

Remember, our time on Earth is limited. Because this time is temporary, nothing here is meant to be held onto forever. We’re simply trying to make this short journey meaningful for ourselves and for others. Don’t become overly attached to people or things. The soul has its own purpose, and the body is just the vehicle helping it fulfil that purpose. When that purpose is complete, the soul moves on.

You are a spiritual being having a human experience. Through this human journey, you begin to discover who you truly are—far beyond what you ever imagined. Do what brings you joy. It’s okay if you break a few societal expectations along the way, as long as you act in alignment with your conscience and your inner truth.

Think of life like visiting a beautiful place for a short stay—you enjoy the moments, you grow, you learn, but eventually you return home. That’s how our journey works, too. And when you finally return home, let your heart be softer, kinder, and more joyful than it has ever been.

So let’s begin discovering our purpose and becoming the best version of ourselves—call it Self 2.0. That might become the greatest discovery of your life.

I think that’s enough for today. We’ll meet again. Until then, keep growing, keep evolving, and keep embracing who you truly are.
